Summer Sailboat

Too hot to be outside so I've been playing around with my watercolor crayons and thought I might try my hand at a freehand sailboat! It was quite fun and easier than I thought. It needed a little something so I drew a little island and lighthouse in the background. The "friend" stamp is from Flourishes.
I used 140lb Canson watercolor paper and mounted it on SU Tempting Turquoise.

Such a beautiful spring day today! Today's Ways to Use it Challenge is featuring bugs, butterflies, bees well...you get it. I love adding butterflies when a card just needs a little something else. This butterfly was punched once in Brocade Blue and then again using a lace patterned vellum, finished off with a half pearl. The dandelion stamp is from Great Inspirations and the sentiment is from Winged Things stamped in Brocade Blue. The dandelions (hard to see) were finished off with Stickles.

A very gloomy day here in beautiful MD so the CAS challenge at Splitcoaststampers was perfect...a summer theme! My inspiration actually came from a pair of panties that I saw in Aeropostale while shopping with my daughter. I used SU water color crayons and a VERY wet brush. The colors were pounced with a water color brush...(not one of my good ones!) onto water color paper.

The first flower was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. Then I used the masking technique to cover the flower. Masking is one of my favorite techniques...stamp your image onto a sticky note and cut out. Use that image to cover the first stamped image. Stamp the same or other images onto the post it . See below:

Trim your image and mount. I used Bazzill texured white for the card base. You can buy it here:

Clean and Simple Mom

For the Clean and Simple challenge themed Mother's Day or May flowers. I love this morning glory set from Stampin' Up! so I got out some Prismacolor pencils and baby oil and colored the flowers. The leaves were colored with Copic markers. Card base is Bazzill and the flower was stamped onto Gina K Pure Luxury and then misted with Vanilla Smooch.

I think my Clean and Simple mom will get it just in time!

Gerbera Reds

I was playing around with this Gerbera Daisy set from Flourishes again and was thinking of embossing it in black but then reached for the red powder instead. The flowers were "washed" with an aqua painter and Pink Pirouette and Real Red ink. A light spray of Smooch Vanilla spritz (see close up) for a little shimmer. The bg is Very Vanilla which was run through the Cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss folder and again, spritzed with Vanilla spritz for a little elegance. Finished with Kaiser Pearls and ribbon.

Pink Gerberas

Just playing around with Flourishes Gerbera Daisies! The daisies were stamped onto vellum with Black Memento ink. After the ink was thoroughly dry, I flipped the paper over and colored the flowers with an aquapainter and watercolor crayons. The frame and labels were cut using my Cricut (which I do not use enough!). the Butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch using Real Rose cardstock and lace vellum. The card base is Bazzill (which I LOVE for clean and simple cards!

Waterlily

This card was made for the Clean and Simple sketch challenge inspired by this cute card by Alanna. First I stamped Waterlily (Flourishes) in Memento Danube Blue onto a card base made from Bazzill White.

A paper piercer and mat pack were used to make the holes. The lily pads were stamped with Memento Green onto watercolor paper and painted with aqua painter with green water color crayons and cut out. The lilies were stamped with Memento Danube Blue and then stamped over with versa mark and embossed with clear embossing powder and cut out. The flowers were then colored with Ballet Blue water color crayon and aqua painter.

Mackinack Canoe

I dug this stamp set ( Summer by the Sea) out of the bottom drawer for the Clean and Simple challenge this week. A great old set... cna't part with it! The inspiration came from the photo of an antique canoe from the Mackinac Island website.

The image was stamped onto Prism Smooth White paper and colored with various Copic markers: B00, G21, BG15, BG13, R14, R29, R27, RV21

The Real Red panel was put through the Cuttlebug with the Dotted Swiss EB folder. The Taken with Teal panel was put through the Cuttlebug using the Swirls EB folder. The sentiment is from Flourishes Strawberries set.

This was made for the Free For All challenge at Splitcoast. The challenge was to make a basket or a card with a basket on it also...use Barely Banana, Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery. I dug out an old set -Basket Full of Fun- and stamped the basket onto Barely Banana paper that had been cuttlebugged. The butterflies were punched with the MS butterfly punch and the white backround was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirls folder.

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner and I'm thinking Corned Beef and Cabbage, Irish Soda Bread and Green Beer! This is a free printable from Craft Secrets. The paper is SU Certainly Celery, Black and Whisper White. DP was stamped with Garden Green using the Crafty Secrets Floursh set. The shamrock was made by punching 4 hearts using EK success heart punch. The pearls are Kaiser.

I needed to make a bright card on a cold gray day so I made this for the new Splitcoast challenge Free for All. We were to use a color we do not normally use and yellow is that color for me! I used the Cuttlebug eb folder Swiss Dots for the bg and found some yellow gingham in my paper stash. The card was inspired by the daisy that I picked up from K & Company the other day. The butterflies were punched from Summer Sun using the MS punch and stamp and embellished with Kaiser half pearls. The gingham was punched on both sides with the SU eyelet punch. The sentiment is from the Flourishes Strawberries set stamped in Summer Sun and punched with the SU Word Window.

I haven't posted in a long time so this week I am getting back to it! This card was made for the Clean and Simple challenge to make a square card. This was my first square card but not my last! The butterfly was punched with the MS butterfly punch and colored with Copic Markers. The EGGS sign was a $1 stamp from We Are Memory Keepers...cute! The bunny in the basket is Serene Spring and was colored with Copics as well. The eggs are from the Bunny Hugs set. A nice bright card to make on a cold snowy day!

This week's Crafty Secrets challenge was to use squares. The cats and witch's hat are from Halloween Fun and were glittered up with MS black glitter and a glue pen. The BG paper is SU Creepy Crawly. The stars and mounting paper are Lavender Lace and the Squares are Pumpkin Pie.

I added a little ribbon at the top to make it look like a trick or treat bag. The "bag" was then mounted onto black cardstock.

This was a fun and easy card. First I punched a circle out of a post it and placed it on white cardstock. Next I sponged Orchid Opulence around the circle making the top of the paper a little
darker. I removed the post it and sponged light yellows on the circle and then a little orange. Stamped the tree, bats and spider in black, mounted it on black and adhered to Orchid Opulence card. The tree is from Su's Branch Out all others from Crafty Secret's Halloween Fun.

I love the Sat Inspiration challenges over at Splitcoast. This weeks challenge was to be inspired by CWDkids. When I saw this picture :

I knew this was my inspiration. I have a 16 yr old black cat (he is mommy's boy) and I just loved this shirt.

First I brayered Yo Yo yellow into glossy cardstock. I masked part of the paper with a piece of torn scrap paper. Next I brayered Pumpkin Pie over the entire piece. Then I rolled some Pixie Pink onto the bottom. The kitty is from Autumn Apparitions and the sentiment is from Crafty Secrets Halloween Fun which was EM with Only Orange EP. His little eyes are tiny gold Kaiser Pearls with little dots of black copic marker. I apply MS black glitter to the kitty using a glue pen.

This card was made for the Clean and Simple sketch challenge CAS25.

I blended yellow and red Copic markers to color the dress orange. Take your red marker and brush it onto the yellow marker... yes the red just vanishes off the yellow marker! I did not know this until I took a class at my local scrapbook store...very cool!

It's all about me! challenge

The Crafty Secrets challenge at Splitcoaststampers this week was to make a card inspired by what your interests are. I love gardening and started at a very early age with my mother. This image from Crafty Secrets reminds me of what I called "my butterfly garden" which was really just a patch of wildflowers that attracted tons of butterflies! I now have plants all over my yard that attract butterflies, birds and bees!

Base is Going Grey then Cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots.

Image from Summertime Images and Journals was mounted onto Blush Blossom, Going Grey, PP DP.

Polka dot PP DP was mounted onto Blush Blossom and then stamped with Crafty Secrets Florishes with Going Grey ink. Finished with Kaiser half pears.

I love this Seaside set from SU. A round hole was punched into Prism Cream and adhered to a piece of Very Vanilla.The shell was then stamped onto the Very Vanilla through the hole.

Strips were of Cameo Coral and Pink Pirouette were punched using Word Window. This was adhered to Close to Cocoa base. Finished with Vanilla Taffeta, brown grograin and sentiment from One of a Kind stamped in Chocolate Chip.

This was made for the Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple challenge to use corals, pinks, kraft paper and one other color. (I used Close to Cocoa instead of Kraft)

Just playing around with this set. I found some old backround papers tucked in a drawer so I stamped the morning glory onto tissue paper and the adhered it to the paper with mod podge.

The backround paper was sponged with color box ink and the lightly sprayed with water -- it is much bolder IP!

The design is from the Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge SC229.

The Orchid Opulence paper is EB with the Swiss Dots and the Ballet Blue is EB with Swirls.

The card is Prism White which is slightly textured.

I haven't posted in a while because we just got home from the beach! I made this card for the Splitcoaststampers challenge LSC220. (perfect timing) The challenge was to make a beachy card with one sentiment and one embellishment so I dusted off my Seaside set that I have never used (but had to have lol!).

The "netting" was made by stamping the Cheesecloth stamp with Sahara Sand onto Sahara Sand paper.

Card base is Blush Blossom, then Sage Shadow, Starfish was stamped with Sahara Sand onto Blush Blossom, snail shell was stamped in Sage Shadow onto Confetti White and scallop shell was stamped with Sahara Sand onto Sage Shadow. Cord was picked up at Walmart!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is just around the corner so I've been playing around.

Shimmery White paper

Always Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, Old Olive.

Blossoms Abound is one of my favorite sets Butterfly is from God's Beauty.

I stamped the butterfly once in the corner in Lovely Lilac and then stamped one on vellum and cut out. Adhered it to the first butterfly and added Dazzling Diamonds using a glue pen.

I used White grosgrain and colored the little ribbon with a Lovely Lilac re-inker. The backround paper was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirls.

Rainy Day

It was so rainy here for a few days I just was thinking "shiny red rain boots!" I used black Prism paper for the card. Stamped the tree in Black Stazon onto Shimmery White and embossed the boots with red EP.

I adhered the thin red ribbon over black grosgrain. The raindrop in the left corner is something I found on the floor and all most threw away but found a home for it! Here's hoping for sunny days again!

Spring is here in Maryland with all the birds making nests in my bushes I had to get these two sets from Crafty Secrets!

The images from Bird Notes and Bird Lovers were stamped on a piece of Fabriano watercolor and colored with an aquapainter. You can't tell from the picture but it was adhered to a peice of Chocolate Chip card stock. Finish with a Vanilla Taffeta bow.

I love these sets already!

I just got the Fifth Avenue Floral set today! It is a beautiful set.

I stamped the large flower image on Apricot Appeal and then cut it out. I then stamped the butterfly from God's Beauty and colored it with Summer Sun and Only Orange watercolors. Attached a strip of Delicate Dots to the bottom of Prism Cream paper and then punched the bottom with the eyelet punch. Stamped for you in black onto Apricot Appeal and punched out with small oval. Adhere all pieces to Apricot Appeal card.

Stamp fairy onto Shimmery White and color with copic markers. Stamp another fairy onto post it note and cut out. Adhere post it over original image. Stamp swirls from 7 gypsies Nottinghill in Ballet Blue. Stamp little stars from Fairy set randomly over swirls. Mount onto Mellow Moss, adhere to Pink Shiny Bazzill and attach to Ballet Blue card. Finish with butterfly from Nottinghill stamped onto Shimmery White and cut out. Stamp large stars from Fairy set and cut out. Apply glue from glue pen to stars, wings and butterfly and add Dazzling Diamonds. Stamp Magical in Regal Rose.

First I stamped the bride on Shimmery White paper. The hair and bouquet were colored with pastels.

I adhered a piece of shiny pink texured Bazzill paper to a pink card, next I stamped two flowers from the True Friend set and set aside. I then rounded the corners of the Bella and adhered her to the car. I adhered the flowers together and attached to card with a pop dot. Finished the card with small pink Kaiser Rhinestones along the gown and one large Rhinestone on the flower.

This card started as an ATC but grew!

Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Not Quite Navy ink.

Fern, flower and words were stamped off once before stamping ATC. Matted with Night of Navy and then with More Mustard. Then mounted onto stamped Prismatic paper. I stamped "wish" onto vellum with Night of Navy. Eyelets were attached on either side and then mounted onto More Mustard and then onto Night of Navy card.

Getting in the mood for Spring!

This is such a pretty set I thought I would dust it off and use it!

Card was made from Prismatic Cream paper.

Lilac image stamped with Blush Blossom, then Lovely Lilac onto Very Vanilla cs. Stems were stamped in Old Olive and leaves in Mellow Moss. Added a little Dazzling Diamonds to the lilacs.

Bottom of VV torn along bottom and adhered to Blush Blossom cs. Tied a VV Taffeta Ribbon around the BB and added paper flower with a brad. Adhered this to purple Mulberry paper--So easy!

This set is really fun to work with.

I stamped the chef image from Voila with Versamark ink and the embossed with Black embossing powder. I cut out the image and colored with red and black copic markers. I stamped the cover image onto silver paper and cut out. Chalk board was stamped with white ink onto black paper and mounted onto white paper. Finished the card by adhering all elements to Real Red card stock and added a Rhinestone to the cover!

Another Serene Spring using Blush Blossom paper, Bashful Blue and Very Vanilla. I stamped the image from Serene Spring and cut out the bunny and attached it to tag. Stamped image from A Little Bit of Happiness on watercolor paper and colored using Copic Markers and Watercolor Crayons. I then cut out the images and tucked the purle flowers in the basket from Basket Full of Fun. Finished off the card with torn Mulberry paper and Kaiser Pearls.

Love this Serene Spring set!

I used Bashful Blue for the card. Stamped image on Shimmery White then ran a glue pen around the inside of a Making Memories oval cutter and poured blue glitter over the oval. When the glue was dry I cut out the oval and adhered to another Shimmery White piece of card stock. Image was colored with pastels.

I love this Serene Spring set from SU. Very fun to watercolor or use copics.

First card was made from Prismatics Cream paper. Image stamped on watercolor paper and colored with copics, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa and Lavender Lace. Stamp another image on watercolor and cut out pot and flowers adhere over original pot. Cut oval using Making Memories oval. Adhere to Lavender Lace oval. Stamp flower from Organic Grace and adhere.

Apply purple glitter to butterfly wings. Add Kaiser Pearls. Adhere oval and flower to paper pierced Very Vanilla.

A card I made for a friend finishing her last Chemo treatment for breast cancer.

I started with Shimmery White card stock for the card. Then, stamped Celebrate from Wonderful Words on Shimmery White. Next I mounted the words onto Regal Rose. I wanted a simple elegant look so I embossed white Mulberry paper using the Swirls folder with my Cuttlebug. Last I punched a pink ribbon using QuicKuts Awareness Ribbon. Did you know you could use other dies with Cuttlebug?!

I adhered the ribbon and die cut and finished it all off with a pink pearl from Kaiser Craft. I then punched several small pink ribbons (using the EK double support ribbon punch) and put them inside the card like confetti.

I made this album for a friend using a plain Kaisercraft tabbed journal and Carolee’s CreationsPurrfect Kitty Collection.
First I painted the edges of the book with 2 coats of cream colored acrylic paint. Measured the paper pieces to fit the pages and attached with Adhesive.
Next I added Soft Sky grosgrain ribbon and Robin’s Nest droplets. Added rings from 7 gypsies and typed my friend’s cat’s name on Very Vanilla cardstock and adhered with adhesive. I used my Creative Memories round punch which perfectly punched the circles for the tabs.
Ready to add pictures or journaling!

I love this hostess set from Stampin' Up! At first I thought it was too large but here I used it on a large Strathmore watercolor card. I stamped the image on watercolor paper using Cameo Coral ink and mounted it on Groovy Guava card stock. Then I added a little sparkle to the center using Dazzling Diamonds. This was such an easy card that I needed a sympathy card ASAP and stamped With Sympathy instead of Thinking of You.

Purely Pomegranate is a beautiful color

on Shimmery White--simple and elegant

with half pearls added for a little dimension.

This card is also Shimmery White CS. I used the masking technique by
first stamping the image with Mellow Moss. Then I stamped the image
again on scrap paper and cut out the flower. I adhered the cut out image over the original and stamped En Francais using Going Grey over covered flower.
I removed the scrap paper and stamped one more image on Shimmery White CS. I cut that one out (flower only) and adhered to card. Leaves were touched up with a little Always Artichoke pastel.
